The National Consortium of Armenian Communities, which includes three organizations: “Real World, Real People”, “Pink Armenia” and “Awakening Potential”, initiated the creation of the Platform for Communication and Cooperation of organizations and activists working in the field of the response to HIV / AIDS and key groups of the population.
“For public organizations working in the field of the response to HIV / AIDS, it is important to exchange information about activities in order to own the situation in the country, to know who is doing what, and not duplicate activities. And the second direction, so that organizations respond promptly to cases of human rights violations, react in the consolidated manner to any challenges. Effective communication is extremely important in the situation when Armenia is in the process of transition to national funding for the HIV / AIDS programs, which were supported by international donors, “says Armen Aghajanov, a member of the organization “Real World, Real People”.
The initiators of the creation of the Platform for Communication and Cooperation declare that it is intended not only for organizations working in the field of HIV / AIDS. The platform will also be used to counteract the epidemics of tuberculosis and hepatitis, as well as in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
The communication platform is created within the framework of the project “Health can be bought if there is a budget”, which is implemented by the Eurasian regional consortium, which unites three regional networks: the Eurasian Harm Reduction Network (EHRN), representing the needs of people who use drugs (LUN); the Eurasian Coalition on Male Health (ECOM), representing the needs of gays and other men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender people, and the Eastern European and Central Asian Association of People Living with HIV (EECAA PLWH) , representing the needs of people living with HIV (PLWH), with the support of the Robert Carr civil society Networks Fund (RCNF).
